CIP is widely used in food and beverage production enterprises with a high degree of mechanization, such as beverages, dairy products, fruit juice, fruit pulp, jam, wine and so on. In situ cleaning does not need to disassemble or move the device. Detergent and washing water are used to wash the internal surface of the equipment with high-speed liquid flow to form a mechanical action to wash away the dirt. This action is effective for the cleaning of pipes, pumps, heat exchangers, separators and valves. It can be used for cleaning and purification of production equipment with strict hygiene level requirements.

When the concentration of cleaning agent is increased, the cleaning time can be appropriately shortened or the shortage of cleaning temperature can be made up. The increase of cleaning agent concentration will increase the cleaning cost, and the increase of concentration may not effectively improve the cleaning effect. Therefore, it is necessary for the manufacturer to determine the appropriate concentration according to the actual situation. Generally speaking, when the temperature of the washing solution increases by 10 ºC, the chemical reaction speed will increase by 1.5-2.0 times, the cleaning speed will also increase accordingly, and the cleaning effect is good. Generally, the cleaning temperature shall not be lower than 60 ºC. Cleaning time is affected by many factors, such as cleaning agent type, concentration, cleaning temperature, product characteristics, production pipeline layout and equipment design. The cleaning time must be appropriate. If it is too short, the dirt cannot be effectively removed, and if it is too long, resources will be wasted.
